Cancer Care Center

Putting the emphasis on “care” every step of the way.

Let’s face it, “cancer” is a scary word for patients and their families. That’s why our Cancer Care Center provides free support groups, a full library of educational resources and a staff of caring, dedicated people ready to help you fight and give you hope.

Our Cancer Care Center is a state-of-the-art facility equipped to prevent, detect, treat and defeat cancer. The Cancer Care Center is designed to treat the whole person, not just the cancer, right here close to home.

Commission on Cancer Accredited

In March 2008, the Johnson Memorial Cancer Center received the Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation with Commendation. This award is designed to recognize cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Our Cancer Center received the highest score in 8 of 9 categories.

Approval by the CoC is given only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. To maintain approval, facilities with CoC-approved cancer programs must undergo an on-site review every three years.

This accreditation ensures our patients have access to:

  • Comprehensive care, including a range of state-of-the-art services and equipment
  • A multi-specialty, team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options
  • Cancer-related information, education, and support
  • A cancer registry that collects data on type and stage of cancers and treatment results and offers lifelong patient follow-up
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of care
  • Quality care close to home

If you have any questions regarding cancer, its treatment or the facility, please stop by the center, call us at (317) 736-3346 or contact us today.

Cancer

All of the Cancer Care Center's services, including both medical and radiation technology, are located in one convenient location: the ground floor of the hospital's 1159 Professional Office Building, on the western edge of the JMH campus.
