Description

A small, fleshy bump on the skin or mucous membrane caused by human papillomavirus.

Overview

Warts are small, fleshy bumps on the skin or mucous membranes. They're caused by the human papillomavirus. Warts can be spread by touch to another person or to another area of a person's own body.

Symptoms

Rough to the touch, warts often have tiny black dots, which are small, clotted blood vessels. Warts often occur on the hands, feet, and genitals.

Treatments

Treatments include peeling medicine with salicylic acid and removal through medical procedures.
