Plaque

Description

A substance that collects in and hardens blood vessels, builds up on tooth enamel or appears on skin due to certain conditions.

Self-care

When to seek immediate medical care

See a healthcare professional right away if you have:

  • Chest pain or shortness of breath.
  • Pain radiating to jaw, neck, shoulder or arm, especially the left arm.
  • Cold sweats.

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor or dentist if you have:

  • Thick, shiny, silvery scales on the skin that cause irritation or discomfort.
