Johnson Memorial Health

Winter-Storm-UpdateJohnson Memorial Health has initiated its Emergency Operations Plan as a hazardous winter storm hit the area this weekend.

Check back here for updates from JMH:

The Latest
  • The JMH Immediate Care Center will reopen on Tuesday.

  • The Lab and Imaging Services are OPEN

  • Johnson County is now under an ORANGE TRAVEL WATCH. This means road conditions are threatening to public safety and only essential travel is recommended. Under this level of alert, you should limit driving to necessary trips (such as commuting to work or emergencies), and organizations like businesses, schools, and government agencies are encouraged to implement emergency action plans.

  • Johnson County is also under an EXTREME COLD WARNING from 7 p.m. Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday. Dangerously cold wind chills between 20 and 27 degrees below zero are expected.

  • The office of Indiana Gov. Mike Braun issued a statewide disaster emergency declaration as the state continues to be impacted by severe winter weather. The governor stated that the ongoing severe winter storm conditions, as well as forecasted conditions for the storm, constitute a disaster emergency.
About the Storm

A significant winter storm continues to impact central Indiana. Heavy snow - more than 10+ inches - has fallen in Johnson County and extreme cold is settling into the area.

The storm has created treacherous travel conditions and hazardous roads, with travel expected to be difficult into Tuesday. In addition to snow, arctic air is driving frigid wind chills, prompting advisory guidance on staying safe in low temperatures.

About the JMH Emergency Operations Plan

An EOP is a comprehensive framework that outlines how the hospital prepares for, responds to and recovers from emergencies such as natural disasters, mass casualties or infectious disease outbreaks. It defines roles, communication procedures and coordination with community agencies to ensure patient and staff safety while maintaining critical healthcare services.
